Anti Fall Safety Guardrail Nursing Bed BR-HEB54
Built for wards where confused or restless patients are at risk of climbing out of bed. The guardrails on this bed lock the moment they are raised and will not open under pressure applied from inside the bed, so a patient lying down cannot release the rail alone. Staff release the rail from the outside with a single inward push of the safety switch, which keeps the check-in routine fast while removing the most common cause of bed falls.
What Makes the Guardrail Different
- Directional release mechanism - the latch only disengages when pressed from outside the bed. Inside-out pressure, however hard, does not open it.
- 710 x 380 mm rail size - tall enough to block a roll-out at mattress level and long enough to cover the torso span of an adult patient.
- Automatic lock on the way up - no separate pin to engage, so a rail is never left half locked after patient handling.
- Reinforced aluminium alloy crossbeam - oxidized extrusion inside an ABS frame with iron brackets; the rail doubles as a push handle when the bed is moved.
- Retracts below deck level - when lowered, the rails sink under the sleeping surface so transfer in and out of bed stays clear.
CPR Ready Head and Foot Boards
Streamlined PP boards are blow moulded in one piece with a concealed locking switch. They release quickly for CPR access and clip back flush afterwards.
1. Specification and Size
Overall dimension 2080 x 980 x 450 mm. The low 450 mm deck height reduces the risk of injury in the event of a fall and makes standing transfer easier for frail patients.
2. Bed Surface
The sleeping platform is welded from 10 x 50 mm rectangular flat tube with wall thickness of at least 1.5 mm. Ventilation openings cover no less than 20 percent of the total deck area, so moisture and heat disperse under the mattress and the surface can be washed and disinfected quickly. Dynamic load rating is at least 250 kg and static load rating at least 400 kg. The backrest section alone carries at least 150 kg, verified by a third party load test report issued by a CMA and CNAS accredited laboratory.
3. Head and Foot Boards
Streamlined PP head and foot boards in pure engineering plastic, hollow moulded in a single blow moulding pass, colour selectable. The material resists fading and ageing, holds high strength and will not shatter on impact. The smooth closed shape leaves no sanitation dead corners, so ward cleaning takes seconds. A concealed locking switch keeps each board firmly seated yet allows quick removal, and the boards can serve as a CPR emergency function when fast access to the patient is required.
4. Bed Frame
Frame members are 30 x 60 mm rectangular steel tube with wall thickness of at least 1.5 mm, fully welded for rigidity and durability, with all edges deburred for a clean finish and safe handling.

6. Manual Push-pull Commode Function
A commode opening sits at the centre of the deck with a quick-open commode door, so the patient can use a bedpan or commode without being lifted or transferred. The door opens and closes in one movement and locks flush with the deck when closed.
7. Guardrails
Guardrail size 710 x 380 mm, two sets, straight up-down type. The crossbeam is a reinforced aluminium alloy extrusion with oxidized surface treatment, framed in ABS with iron brackets. Each rail locks automatically as it reaches the raised position and retracts below the deck surface when lowered. An outer safety switch is fitted to every rail, and the handle profile is shaped for a firm grip so the whole bed can be pushed from the rail.
The rails use a safety release that cannot be opened by pressure applied from inside the bed and only releases under inward pressure from outside. A patient lying in the bed therefore cannot open the guardrail alone and fall out.
8. IV Stand Sockets and Pole
Two IV stand sockets, one at the head end and one at the foot end, with a 20 mm bore. Each socket body is metal stamped with an ABS engineering plastic inner core, which prevents damage to the socket and cuts the rattling noise of a loaded pole. Supplied with a stainless steel two-section four-claw IV stand of 19 mm diameter.
9. Electric Backrest and Leg Lowering
The backrest raises from 0 to 75 degrees by handset, letting the patient sit up for meals, reading or nursing care. The leg section lowers electrically while the patient is seated, following the ergonomics of the knee joint and making it practical to wash the patient's feet in bed. The lowered leg angle adjusts continuously through the working range.
10. Casters
Four ward-duty casters, 125 ± 5 mm, double sided mute type, each with its own brake. Tread is wear resistant, quiet on ward flooring and resistant to thread and hair winding, and the brake holds reliably. Third party SGS test report available.
11. Dining Board
PP dining board, easy to wipe clean and simple to fit and remove for meal service.
12. Metal Surface Treatment
All metal parts pass an environmentally friendly spray pre-treatment line that removes surface impurities and raises surface density to form a dense protective layer, giving internal and external rust protection. Finish is electrostatic powder coating with an environmentally friendly paint that incorporates antibacterial raw material to inhibit bacterial growth on the surface. 13. Mattress
Mattress matched to the bed size, 6 cm thick. Cover is 650D high strength waterproof oxford fabric, neatly tailored, resistant to ageing, waterproof, anti-slip, breathable and antibacterial. Core combines honeycomb sponge and quality palm fibre, which keeps air moving and suits both winter and summer use. Third party test report available.
